Today, Wednesday the 26th of May, is National Sorry Day - a day of remembrance and acknowledgement of the mistreatment and resilience of the First Nations people who were a part of the Stolen Generations, and the ongoing trauma experienced by Indigenous communities, families and Elders as a result. Today we also note that the issue is ongoing, through contemporary child removal practises. Currently, 20,000 First Nations children are in out-of-home care, and are 10 times more likely to be in said care than non-Indigenous children.
